Weak from hours of questioning and abuse from his jailers, our Lord Jesus Christ was condemned to death by a method usually reserved as a punishment for reviled criminals – crucifixion. Dragged through the streets of Jerusalem, a thorny crown was placed upon his head, mocking those who proclaimed him as the true King. A huge cross, which would be the instrument of his death, was hoisted onto his already gravely wounded back. Accompanied by the sounds of jeering crowds, he bravely bore the tremendous burden. Each step of the journey was a torment, as the Lord slowly and painfully made the way to Golgotha, the Place of the Skull.
The 1st statue in the Passion Collection, The Cross He Bears commemorates in solid silver the Son's ordeal on the way to Golgotha. Sculpted in heart-wrenching detail, the folds and drapes of his robes flow with a sense of movement, while the expression of tension in his face captures our Lord's determination to fulfil his role as our Saviour and the redeemer of our sins. This heirloom quality collectible reflects the faith that Jesus had in God's plan, and reminds us that in order to follow his word, sometimes we must also be willing to give up comfort and bear painful burdens. This hand-finished silver statue stands at 3 inches tall and contains more than 5 Troy ounces of 925 silver, making a wonderful addition to your collection or gift for your cherished ones.
DAVID SLAYS GOLIATH: As the Philistine Goliath moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground - 1 Samuel 17:48. Bernini’s sculpture perfectly captures this historic moment in time without missing a single moment.
FROM MARBLE TO SILVER SNAPSHOT: The original life size sculpture was completed in a mere 7 months and is still seen today in the Galleria Borghese. Here we see David, seconds away from throwing his stone. This was a trailblazing sculpture, completely interacting with its environment. It introduced a new standard in capturing movement and emotional intensity – a true snapshot. And nothing has been lost in our translation from marble to silver.

MICHELANGELO’S MOSES SCULPTED FROM EXODUS 32:1 – 34:29
In 1505 Pope Julius II commissioned Michelangelo Buonarroti to create the tomb where he would finally be laid to rest in 1513. The most prominent feature of this tomb would be an angry, horned Moses.
Our story begins in Exodus 32:1. Having not seen Moses for some time, Aaron declares the Jews cast their gold into a fire to produce a Golden Calf of worship. Finally descending from Mt Sinai, Moses observes this pagan-like activity. And it is told in Exodus 32:19, that the enraged Prophet cast the tablets he was holding from his hands, smashing the 10 Commandments beneath the Mountain.
… Michelangelo captures perfectly the raw emotion of Moses. Eyes darkened and veins throbbing in his arm, left foot poised for action, he grips the tablets in his right hand, ready to shatter.
BUT WHY THE STRANGE HORNS?
After the sin, Moses returns to the Lord and it is there we find the answers to the mysterious horns in Exodus 34:29. “He knew not that his face was horned from the conversation of the Lord." This has come to mean beams of light. Something that was also witnessed by the Jews when Moses returned from the Lord with a new, second set of commandments.

The original Pieta is known as one of the greatest masterpieces during the Renaissance Era. In fact it was the only work of art that Michelangelo ever left his personal signature on. Michelangelo’s original work dates all the way back to 1499, making it over five hundred years old!
The original art had many conflicting opinions and some would actually criticize the sculpture’s features. While some would say the Virgin Mary looked too young, others would say it was the artist’s intentions. Who could know from looking at it, but the original statue was carved from a SINGLE PIECE of marble, so capturing detail was certainly no easy task.
This exquisite sculptor is reproduced today in 925 silver, featuring the body of Jesus resting in the lap of the Virgin Mary after the savior’s crucifixion. The Virgin Mary is depicted as a young woman to capture her inner beauty and purity, as The Lord Jesus Christ is positioned delicately in her arms.
